People use a range of layouts and styles for their DWs and LJs and tumblrs. By adding a small bit of code to the end of the URL (e.g. ?format=light) we can change how the pages look. That way everything is a bit more readable and uniform.
If you choose a random DW/LJ/tumblr page and try adding the code tags to the end of the URL you can see how the different codes will look.
