This is the new submissions post. The screened post is still up, but that's now for any questions or comments you want to make about the way the comm is run, admin type stuff. This is the place for meta submissions.
We try to keep the meta fresh, (i.e. a week old, but the occasional two weeks is okay). If you have meta to submit, that you either wrote or read, please do submit it here.
All comments are screened and IP logging is off. (Finally worked out how to do that!)
Our ratio of off LJ/DW/Tumblr meta to fannish meta seems to skew a bit towards the non-fannish end of things. That's not to say bloggers aren't fans, but we'd like to be able to link more DW/LJ/Tumblr meta as well. We'd also like to link to a broader range of fandoms. (Anime and Manga, for example are woefully under represented here; there's not always much femslash either; book fandoms are hit and miss etc.) Our DW flist needs the most work, but the others could use widening too.
If you want to volunteer your journal or point us towards your favourite flister or comm for following, comment here. (We don't ask to follow, but we do ask to link, and if you get the notif we're following you and want us to stop, we'll stop).
Don't forget, if you don't want to volunteer your journal, but do want to give us blanket permission, then please comment to the post.
As always if you have any questions/feedback or want to volunteer, please get in touch via the screened post, PM or email.

Date: 2014-11-28 04:14 pm (UTC)I understand that it's too old now. To explain myself, it's just that you'd only posted 2 metanews posts since I wrote the Glee thing, the first of the two metanews posts was after you all had missed a week and you were behind so I thought maybe you'd include it in the next one.
So that's why I waited so long to say something - because I wasn't sure what was going to happen and because I kind of trusted that you'd be tracking my series and didn't want to overly self promote/come off as too selfish.
It's fine, though, and I understand that you only want to do brand new things. I'll live. ;)
I just kinda feel like it's just a shame that you missed that one since there is a lot of (older) meta in the Glee community but the only time Glee has ever been featured in metanews was one of my metas from July, so this was a chance to get a second Glee post in, but I get that I missed my chance. Hopefully more Glee meta can show up in your news posts eventually, regardless. It'll probably be better if the next Glee thing isn't also written by me, anyway. More variety of authors is a good thing.

(okay, I know that I've been overdoing it a bit with the FFA links in the past few days, so I'm sorry for flooding you with half a dozen links. I just think that FFA genuinely had a lot of good meta-ish threads lately.)

Date: 2015-02-07 02:11 am (UTC)tl:dr - if it's not in one week's links roundup it'll likely get linked in the next, it depends when the links are actually gathered during the week

Date: 2015-07-09 09:33 pm (UTC)There are only two link finders now, and we're having a lot of trouble keeping up. I'm usually putting in 15-20 hours a week, and she's usually putting in 5 or 6 hours a week (she works. I don't). We both have other things we need to get done in addition to Metanews, so we're behind on a lot of things.
I only looked at the first of your three suggested links, but it looks to me like meta we would link (and for a fandom I don't think we've had meta for before!). We're happy to link anime and manga meta. We just don't generally know where to find it.
(I did a little googling for 'anime' and 'meta' two or three weeks ago and found myself in the middle of a series of several blogs that focused entirely on how various anime series supported Christian scriptural messages. I think their Google ranks were higher because every one of them linked to all of the others. Sadly, very little of what any of them posted was linkable. I think it could be an interesting topic, taken in moderation.)
We don't link to purely image based stuff. We don't link to (most) book reviews or reviews of single issues of comics or manga. We don't link to episode recaps unless they include analysis. We only link to movie reviews if they include analysis of some sort. We don't link to analysis of trailers. We don't link to articles about documentaries. We try not to link to anything that's more than a certain span from its original posting date (this is mostly because of how hard it is to find out if we've posted the link before), but what that span of time is tends to depend heavily on who's making the decision. We generally only link to things that are 'substantive' (by which we mean they run at least three or four paragraphs or have extensive meta in the comments).
Thanks for submitting links!
